Step One – Programming:
A programming meeting is held with you to discuss your vision and priorities.
Step Two – Schematic Design: Based on the Programming Meeting, we present possible solutions in rough, conceptual drawings during a Schematic Design Meeting.
Step Three – Design Development: Once a design direction is decided, we refine the drawings to more completely reflect your goals. At this point, we’ll enter into a new contract with you for continuing services.
Step Four – Contract Documents: Once designs are finalized and materials selected, the studio prepares a thorough set of drawings and specifications that become the contract between you and your builder to price, permit, and construct the project.
Step Five – Contract Administration: Construction begins!
Reach out to us and we will meet with you to discuss your project. This complimentary visit helps us get to know each other, learn more about the goals for your project, and understand how we might work together.

“Following in the Midwest tradition of architectural genius, David Heide is the heir apparent in the guild of Cass Gilbert, Edwin Lundie, Clarence Johnston and Frank Lloyd Wright. I have known and worked with David for many years and highly recommend him to design everything from your intimate getaway cabin to your timeless legacy project.”

“I have been working with David Heide for more than 20 years. He helped us with numerous projects in our St. Paul 100+ year old Tudor Revival and more recently, a contemporary Summit Ave. condo. Projects have included bathrooms, kitchens, master bedroom suites, exterior renovation and interior design.
David and his team are extraordinarily talented. Beginning with the big picture down to the very last detail, David Heide Design works closely with homeowners to design and bring to fruition remarkable projects. Highly creative and easy to work with, he’s flexible, a good listener and fun!”
